I’m not sure what to say? Interesting take? It is ridiculous in our current cultural milieu that we push the notion that there are no differences between men and women. To my patients I often say “men are idiots”. No man has disagreed, yet.
Plenty of differences, but interestingly the same crowd that preaches “diversity” wants the sexes to be equal and identical in every notable way.

Absolutely agree. God doesn’t make mistakes, so clearly men and women were created as complementary and deserve equal dignity. My take on Matthew’s essay, beneath the stylistic flair, is he’s identifying how traditional. complementary roles have been distorted by society, including Left and Right. That’s how I read this, but I’ll leave it to the author to speak for himself.
I've read Confederacy of Dunces. Has your author? It's a political satire, not an attack on women.
I can’t speak for him, but I could never get into that book. I need to revisit it because so many people, especially comedians, admire it.
I read it when it first came out after just returning from New Orleans. It extended my vacation to be able to continue to be immersed in that culture. It may help if you're in "big easy" head if you try it again.

Ten years ago nobody would have written this article. And I’ll be honest I would have thought “damn that’s harsh.” Ten years ago it wasn’t the topic that it is today. Actually, it’s more a symptom, a pent up response, to the insanity of today’s (nth-whatever wave of feminism we are in I’ve lost count).
So - is it misogynist? Maybe.
If it’s misogynist then ok fair enough - I guess I am too - but it is an understandable response to the misandry that this wave of feminism stands for.
The current wave of feminism is misandrist at its very core. As it has become hostile to males (and now has also ironically become hostile to females).
Young men are taught to reject their masculinity. And more recently, young women are taught to reject their femininity and to seek to replace it with something more “masculine.”
Which won’t work out because masculinity is still bad. It doesn’t have a clear and defined goal that makes one iota of basic sense and reason.
Like all intersectional politics it’s a grass fire. The only logical end game is it burns up all the grass.
